These illustrations were for a spread of stories written by people in the service industry.
Clem and Raymond
A few years ago, I wrote a short, very strange story about two kids as a way to get my creative wiggles out. Most of it is absolute nonsense, but there is one passage that imparts a mental image that I enjoy (for reasons I am afraid to explore).
Anyway, here it is with some spot illustrations I drew today.
(Don’t worry, they survive. As you may know from experience, babies have horrible aim.)
New Store!
Summer is whizzing by and I’ve been making all kinds of fun stuff! So much stuff, the other store ran out of room. Now there’s a shiny NEW store here! Check it out and grab some goodies.
Notecards!

I’ve selected six of my Doggy Alphabet paintings (sans letters) to be printed on 5.5″x4″ notecards! The cards are blank inside and can be used for whatever occasion you can think of.
Click on over to my store and grab a pack!

Alphabet of Dogs
This project consists of 26 gouache paintings, each measuring 4.5 x 6″. All of the letters, with the exception of ‘Q’ ‘U’ and ‘Z’, correspond to the breed depicted. See if you can name them all!

Baguette Tree Commission
I was given a lot of creative freedom on this 14 x 18″ acrylic painting. The clients wanted a weightless, inviting piece featuring a “baguette tree”, a feisty cat, and roses. Everything else was up to me, and once they told me how much they enjoy my crazy creatures, I knew this project would be really fun.

Pet Portrait Commissions
These adorable dogs and cats were commissioned as gifts for friends of the client. I love the challenge of capturing an animal’s unique personality!
All of these portraits are 5 x 7″.

“George” [pencil]

“Tiny and McKenna” [pencil]

“Batsy” [ink and watercolor]

“Howie” [pencil]

“Tucker” [ink and watercolor]
Avon Breast Cancer Fundraiser

I made this watercolor painting for a silent-auction fundraiser for breast cancer research. It’s a cute little 4 x 6″ board that fits nicely in a little green frame.
Centered on the Center
From now until March 22, I and 258 other artists will have work on display at the Huntington Beach Art Center. Go and look for my Pied Piper drawing!

The Pied Piper

For this project, I put a twist on the “Pied Piper” fairy tale. In my version, a city populated by mice is plagued by all kinds of bugs! The Piper, a jazz-playing squirrel wearing a zoot suit, rids the town of the bugs. When the townspeople fail to pay him, he leads the children out of town as well. The cityscape was inspired by 1930s New York.
Each spread is 9 x 12″ and done completely in graphite. The entire project took 3 weeks to complete.
